Below are links to various sites that are very important regarding certain issues. In some cases, I’ve referred to them in more than one episode, or I’ve forwarded them on often via Facebook or Twitter.
- The Budget: United States Budget Dilemma
An accountant goes through the numbers and explains why we have a spending problem in the United States budget. This is not just a dry recitation of numbers, but explains the hole we’ve dug for ourselves that can only be remedied by spending less. You can’t tax enough revenue to cover the shortfall. John Stossel also notes that if you tax all income over $1 million, you just can’t make up the shortfall, so the problem is not too little revenue.
For a shorter (and better produced) version of the issue, here is Michael Tanner from the Cato Institute with “How to Solve America’s Spending Problem”.
And no, we don’t have a revenue problem, because there isn’t enough money in the entire country to pay off the US debt. Therefore “It Is Mathematically Impossible To Pay Off All Of Our Debt”. - Marriage: Marriage: What It Is, Why It Matters, and the Consequences of Redefining It
A paper by the Heritage Foundation that refutes many arguments for same-sex marriage. It’s rather long, but it has its bullet points at the top, and you can scroll down to the appropriate section for topics you’re interested in. Still, it’s worth reading in full. - The Church and Gays: Link referring to how the Bible views homosexuality, and understanding why not everything in the Old Testament is a moral law.
