BE LESS CHIKIN

Chick-fil-A gives away a lot of its profits to charities. Recently, they made an announcement that seems like it was trying to appease those who protest it. I’ll explain my thoughts.

Getting sued for $2 million for exposing the truth is bad enough. Losing your case is worse.

The British Universities and College Union has decided to drop objective truth. If you are lily white and say you’re black, you won’t get an argument from them. We’re losing objective truth in academia.

Episode 271: #SaveJamesYounger

James Younger

A 7-year-old boy is the latest victim in a sexual orthodoxy that will not let you disagree with it. The father is trying to save him from a gender transitioning that he is convinced was brought on at the urging of his mother since the boy was 3.

Can a 7-year-old really make that kind of decision?

Episode 265: There Is No “Gay Gene”

Born this way? No.

A large study (over 470,000 participants) asked about sexual preferences and activity. It also looked at genetic markers. What they found was that your genes have extremely little to do with your preferences or action.

Basically it’s nurture over nature. There is no “gay gene”. “Born This Way” is a catch-phrase, a chant, not a scientific statement.

This episode has my thoughts on what this means; how we’ve been lied to, and how it exposes current pressures from the LGBTQ crew on society.

Does Beto value human life?

Yet another large study reveals more issues of mental health among transgendered people. The researchers expect more but the magnitude shocked them. It should shock all of us. But which came first?

Beto O’Roarke was asked about the value of human life. Should be an easy question, but when it’s asked about a baby one day before he or she is born, things get dicey.

Art and architecture

I think we can sometimes go overboard looking for ill intent in comment from “the other side”, whichever side that may be. Some conservatives did just that, in my opinion, over some comments about the Notre Dame fire.

The Supreme Court will be hearing 3 cases next session that will be part of a continuing effort in this country to reconcile the rights of various groups of sexual identities and preferences (groups that seem to be created daily) with the First Amendment right to freedom of religion.

Jamie Shupe

Jamie Shupe, who became a transgender and got nationwide publicity when doing so, realized it was all a “sham” and has returned to being the man he was born as. I’ll talk about his journey there and back again. (But don’t expect that he’ll get the same media attention this time.)

It turns out that no matter how  you implement them, disincentives to work turn out pretty much the same way. In Finland, they compared traditional unemployment benefits with the Universal Basic Income for 2 years. I’ll discuss their findings.

Beware the 1-sided story

What were the lessons we should all take from the coverage of the Covington High School teens and Native American Nathan Phillips? Have we actually learned them? Will this change how news is reported?

And I have a “Name That Quote” segment again. It’s been gone for a while, but it’s back! For this quote, you may want to prepare yourself if it surprises you as much as it did me.

Episode 227: Studies You May Not Have Heard About

Hiding from the facts

This time out, I’m covering 2 studies, the results of which you probably have not heard about.

First of all, we keep hearing about how school shootings are an epidemic these days. But when NPR tried to confirm government statistics…they couldn’t.

A Brown university professor tried to figure out how much of the current wave of transgenderism was based on external rather than internal influences (that is, how much of it could be attributed to it being a ‘fad’). His results upset some people, so what did the school (that bastion of free speech and facts) do with the study? Listen in.
